Hi, I’m Asavari Awasthi

As a university student, I’ve been told too often to start living “the college experience.” Thankfully, it only took me a semester to realize I truly was living it. And it didn’t mean following weekly rituals of getting drunk with Chad from Sigma Chi, or indulging my cholesterol levels in the Freshman 15, or pursuing multiple student organizations to achieve student board status (although those efforts quickly proved in vain).

I started living MY college experience when I realized THE “college experience” didn’t quite resonate. It was a process of trial and error to what truly felt right. Those awkward moments of being hazed in a pledging process to meeting my first college friend in a peer support group.

So what is the college experience? I would argue the answer expands to the great philosopher Montel de Montaigne in his quote “I know well what I am fleeing from, but I know what I am in search of.”

The college experience is more individual than is seen, and a little bittersweet for the matter. But it’s those Eureka Moments of finding what fits for you that shines like sunlight, even when you experience moments of frustration that only sprinkle salt. In this blog I’ll be sharing my experiences/tips to finding authenticity and staying grounded in this search.

Grateful to share my continuously evolving journey with you all!
